simulation

classroom teaching

online learning
education provided via the internet so that parents paid or unpaid carers can study at home using computers, laptops, tablets and smartphones
accredited trainers
professionals who have been assessed as having the necessary knowledge and skills to provide care skills training to parents, paid or unpaid carers
subject matter experts
professionals with specialist knowledge and skills in a particular aspect of care
residential short break care
care provided for a short period of time in a hospice or care home so that carers can take a break from caring
person centred care
care focussed on the needs of the person rather than the needs of the service
competency assessment
a test to show that a parent, paid or unpaid carer is able to safely undertake a specific caring task
care skills training
teaching a parent, paid or unpaid carer to provide specialized health care for child or young person with complex special needs
